The Georgia Archives will be closed Wednesday, June 19th in observance of Juneteenth. Additionally, the Georgia Archives will be closed the morning of Thursday, June 20th for in-service/staff development training. We will reopen on Thursday, June 20th at 1pm.

Virtual Vault - This is your portal to some of Georgia’s most important historical documents, from 1733 to the present. The Virtual Vault provides virtual access to historic Georgia manuscripts, photographs, maps, and government records housed in the state archives. Use Advanced Search to search each collection.

Vanishing Georgia - The Vanishing Georgia Photographic Collection of almost 18,000 images is the result of a Georgia Archives project begun in the mid-1970s to locate and copy historically significant photographs held by individuals throughout Georgia. A National Endowment for the Humanities grant supported an expansion of the project from 1977-1979, and images continued to be added to the collection until 1996. - Search Places by Georgia county for probate, land and court records, Georgia for land grant records, death certificates, marriage records, Freedman’s Bureau records, and more. Georgia Historic Newspapers - Search historic regional newspapers for legal notices, obituaries, election results, legislative news, and more.

Georgia Official and Statistical Register - Published biennially from 1923-1990 by the Georgia Archives, covers basic reference data on the state’s executive, legislative and judicial branches, on counties, and biographical data on elected and appointed state officials.

Georgia Government Publications – A comprehensive digital repository of state government publications from 1994 to present. This site is actively adding pre‐1994 publications.
